一般現在時表示經常或習慣性的動作或一般性事實。，也可表示現在的狀態或主語具備的性格和能力。

通常與副詞every day(每天)，always(總是),usually(通常),often(經常)sometimes(有時),等時間狀語連用。

例：(1)表示事物或人物的特征、狀態。

The sky is blue.天空是藍色的。

Mary’s father is an English teacher. 瑪麗的爸爸是一名英語老師。

(2)表示經常性或習慣性的動作。

I get up at six every day.我每天六點起床。

(3)表示客觀現實。
