Valentine's Day: Does Love Only Exists on That Day?

So Valentine's day is coming. Millions of couples are going to celebrate this day. I won't. It isn't because I am single. It's because I celebrate my love every day of the Year. I don't remember my loved one only this particular day; the 14th of February.

"Valentine's Day or Saint Valentine's Day is a holiday celebrated on February 14 by many people throughout the world. In the West, it is the traditional day on which lovers express their love for each other by sending Valentine's cards, presenting flowers, or offering confectionery. The holiday is named after two among the numerous Early Christian martyrs named Valentine. The day became associated with romantic love in the circle of Geoffrey Chaucer in the High Middle Ages, when the tradition of courtly love flourished."

I think it's childish to celebrate that day. Do we need a day to celebrate our love? Well I am against any "special" day like Mother's day, Father's day, Aids day, Environment day etc. I think that everyday should be Mother's day, Father's day etc. Everyday we should care for other people, show our love, protect the environment, give charity etc.

Many would say: "What's wrong with it? We would like to celebrate!". OK you can do it, but remember that there are many people that will profit from this day. Many people have named this day as "Florist's day" or "Pastry cook's day". They are not wrong. Florists and Pastry Cooks make thousands of dollars on that day! It's not bad for people to earn, but why be a victim of that day? You can buy flowers cheaper on "casual" days to show your love!

So I would advice you to love your soulmate everyday as much as you could! Have you ever bought flowers on a casual day to your loved one? Have you seen their reaction? It's far better than Valentine's day because they are not expecting the flowers from you!

One last thing! I hope that the 14th of February will be a casual day for you! A casual day full of love like all others!

情人節(jié)到了。上百萬對情人即將慶祝這一天。我不會。倒不是因為單身，而是我每天都慶祝我們的愛情。只有在2月14日這一天才會忘記所愛的人。

“ 情人節(jié)”或“圣瓦倫仃節(jié)”是全世界許多人在2月14日慶祝的節(jié)日。在西方國家，這是情人們表達愛意的傳統(tǒng)日子，互寄情人節(jié)卡片、互贈鮮花或糖果。這個節(jié)日是以兩個早期基督教殉教者中叫瓦倫仃的人名命名的。在中世紀鼎盛時期高雅的愛情傳統(tǒng)盛行。這一天隨著喬叟文學(xué)的流行而與浪漫愛情聯(lián)系起來。

我覺得慶祝這一天有點兒幼稚。需要專門有一天來慶祝愛情嗎？呵，我反對任何諸如母親節(jié)、父親節(jié)、兒童節(jié)、環(huán)境日等“特殊”日子。每天都應(yīng)該是母親節(jié)、父親節(jié)。我們每天都要關(guān)愛他人，表達情意，保護環(huán)境，給予仁愛。

許多人會問：“這又有什么？我們喜歡慶祝！”好吧。你可以這么做。但記住，許多人將從中獲利。人們稱它“花商節(jié)”或“餡餅廚師節(jié)”。沒錯。在那天，花商和餡餅廚師收入頗豐。對于要賺錢的人來說這個日子真不賴。但干嘛要讓自己變成犧牲品呢？你可以在平常買到更便宜的花來表達你的愛。

所以我建議每天盡所能地愛你的精神伴侶。平常你買過花送給他/她嗎？你有見過他/她的反應(yīng)嗎？他們意外收到你的花，所以反應(yīng)一定比情人節(jié)那天棒多了。

最后，我希望2月14號是個平常日，一個充滿愛意的普通日子。
